Medivet Anfield is part of the Medivet group and offers routine and preventative care alongside diagnostics such as an in-house laboratory and ultrasound. The practice is set up for common pet healthcare needs (15‑minute consultations, vaccinations, parasite care, neutering, microchipping, dentistry, nurse clinics, and home visits), and it also supports multiple species including rabbits and small mammals.
From the latest reviews available, owners often describe staff taking time to discuss concerns and adapting appointments for nervous or reactive dogs (for example, using a side entrance to help a reactive rescue dog). However, one recent 1‑star review alleges inappropriate handling of a pet rat during a respiratory visit, and the reviewer says they felt the practice couldn’t be trusted with animals beyond cats and dogs—this conflicts with the clinic’s stated small‑mammal coverage.
Services and facilities stated by the clinic include
Out-of-hours arrangements (as stated on the website)

I had pet rats, During covid time, I had to take one of my rats to this vet for breathing difficulties and I had to wait outside and watch through the window. I watched as the female vet and her assistant held my rat by the tail (which you're not supposed to so because it can damage their back) and hold up my pet rat to the receptionist in a way that made it difficult for my rat to breathe whilst he was already struggling to breathe! I was horrified. I couldn't wait to get my pet away from the place. I went to another vet and my little boy was treated much better. This place is a 'cat and dog' vet, can't be trusted with any animal that isn't just a cat or a dog. I wouldn't even trust this vet practice with my cat! Go elsewhere.

Excellent private vets, when the PDSA are unable or unwilling to help. (That's even if you can get registered as a new member with PDSA) Medivet Anfield are amazing and doesn't cost an arm and a leg like most private veterinary practices. Quite the opposite, relatively cheap, comparatively and the level of care and professionalism provided is above and beyond what you would expect for a practice for the very reasonable prices they charge. I can't express how surprised I was at the level of quality of care provided for my pets. They are amazing and I would highly recommend them to any pet owner. Even over the donation and apparent charitable nature of the PDSA, I'd rather pay a little bit more and have my pets properly looked after by professionals who aren't rushing under pressure and having you wait for ages with sometimes uncertainty about the treatment you will receive. Don't get me wrong. I'm not slating the PDSA as they play a vital role for many people for different reasons. I'm just saying, in my humble opinion, if you have the choice, this vet is preferable for me 100% of the time! 5 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Just had my fur babies annual checkup. The vets at Medivet are fantastic. They are so kind, caring and knowledgable about my pets. The whole staff at Priory Rd are great, nothing is ever a problem and they go above and beyond. I have a yearly plan for both pets which I think is great value for money.

The staff at the Anfield branch are great. Taking time to discuss issues and they do really care about your pets. Over the years I have taken my pets to a few vets, but none have been as considerate towards my pets state of mind than medivet. Recommended
